Your vacations in Aveyron
So many landscapes to discover, so many landscapes to contemplate, and so many activities to do in Aveyron! Our campsite between Rodez and Albi was the opportunity for you to explore the region from every angle. Hikers and nature lovers were able to get to know the varied landscapes between high plateaus, gorges, valleys and lakes. These are all ideal settings for outdoor sports, but also for daydreaming and relaxation. Small retrospective of your discoveries during your vacations in camping in Aveyron !
The Aveyron, land of hikes and activities in the heart of nature
If there is a department favorable to hiking, it is the one of l'Aveyron. Many of our campers took advantage of this opportunity to organize a few days of hiking through the Tarn and Aveyron gorges, the Regional Natural Park of the Grandes Causses and the Monts and lakes of Lévezou.
As you have probably noticed, just like the flora, the fauna of Aveyron is particularly rich: owls, hares, squirrels, genets and weasels are among the animal species you may have come across during a walk in Aveyron.
The luckiest ones will have been able to see the beaver, the largest European rodent, reintroduced in the region of the Tarn and which seems to be well accustomed to this environment. Speaking of environment, the diversity of the landscapes of the department makes it possible to practice a large number of activities in the middle of nature: canyoning, rafting, climbing, speleology, via ferrata... The choice has been wide to offer yourself some strong sensations during your camping stay in Aveyron!
Back at Naucelle, nothing better than relaxing at Lac de Bonnefon for a small dive in the campsite swimming pool, an evening entertainment, or a small fishing session just a few steps away from your pitch or rental.
Aveyron's towns and villages, an immersion in the occitan culture
Your camping vacations in Occitania will also have been an opportunity to discover a rich culture and heritage reflected in its history, architecture and gastronomy. History lovers were able to visit the Château du Bosc 6 km from our campsite in Naucelle, this beautiful medieval castle where the painter Henri de Toulouse Lautrec lived part of his childhood.
Our campsite near Sauveterre de Rouergue in the heart of Ségala allowed you to easily explore this superb 13th century Royal Bastide. Its central square with 47 arcades and the creations of the different craftsmen of the medieval city could not leave you insensitive!
In addition to Sauveterre, many other towns near our campsite are classified among the most beautiful villages in France. We can find Rodez with its historical center, and its fabulous Notre Dame cathedral with pink sandstone. Have you climbed from its bell tower to enjoy an exceptional panorama on the Lévezou plateau ?
Were particularly appreciated by their beauty: Villefranche en Rouergue, Belcastel, Albi and Najac, a village surrounded by forests whose castle overlooks the gorges of the Aveyron. In short, whether you have already spent a camping vacation in Occitania or are planning to do so, the program of your next vacation could well be rich in outings and discoveries.
